Motivating Morning Runs and a Motivating Movie: My Run

It was a great week of morning weather here with temperatures finally in the 70s to 80s. Really, how could I not resume my morning runs? It felt good to be out there before work, having imaginary races with the street sweeper.  The street sweeper runs slow enough to make me think I can maybe outrun it ... but, of course, it eventually passes me. It's just one of those spontaneous "games" I sometimes play while I'm running. This week's runs were some of the better ones of this summer- worthy enough for my mental motivation file. Whenever I have one of those inevitable lazy moments in the future, I will pull up something from that file for motivation.

Speaking of motivation, My Run, the film documenting 57 year old Terry Hitchcock's journey of running 75 marathons in 75 consecutive days to bring awareness to the challenges of single-parent families, is coming to DVD on September 20th. As I pretty much only get to see kid movies in the theatres these days, I get excited when a movie I want to see comes out on DVD. I'm looking forward to checking this one out.  A portion of the DVD sales will go to LIVESTRONG and Soles4Souls.

Would any of you like your own copy of My Run?  If so,  you may be interested in this giveaway. The film's promoters are providing three readers an opportunity to win a DVD!
