Was That A Typo?

Last week, I got back onto the marathon training cycle. So far, so good. I'm following a plan that was recently created for me and my schedule. There is no increase in mileage volume from my usual. It does have something I haven't done in over a year:

speed work.  (If Blogger had a scary font, I'd use it here.)

That is not a typo. Imagine the surprise of some folks seeing and hearing words such as "hill intervals" and "fartlek" in reference to my workouts. Despite having a Garmin for a few years now, I programmed a workout into it for the first time this week (gasp!) Yep, that's me working on becoming a more well rounded runner here. I'll keep you posted.

I hope to post pictures from my Halloween soon. If I can only find that USB cable! How was everyone's Halloween?

I've had a Garmin for two and a half years and I've never programmed a session into it so you're way ahead of me. Good luck with your speed training. Who knows - you might surprise yourself and enjoy it.

Fartleks! - I totally remember those from our cross country workouts in high school. It is the only thing I can think of when I hear or read the words "speed work". Do a lap for me ;)
