The entry fee is $128 for non members. New York Road Runners pay a discounted fee of $117. That's right. One hundred twenty-eight dollars. For a half marathon.
I understand the costs of running a race are many, but this struck me as one of the higher non-charity related, early registration fees I've seen for a half.
Better hurry, though. Registration closes on December 19th at 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time!

That's pretty pricey. I think the most I've paid for one is $80. But when an event is really popular it often comes with a higher price tag.
Race fees seem to be easily outpacing inflation and it is rather frustrating. I know some of it likely has to do with "For Profit" organizations (think RnR) managing races now and destination races such as Disney, but even the "charity" races are on board now. I have found there is a lot more bang for the buck doing small, local races.
I ran this last year and LOVED every minute of it but am not going to do it this year...it is just a bit too steep and I am being more selective with where my fees are going this year.
I have a race report on it as it was just a great time...
I think that is very steep. The most I've paid for a half is R55 (SA rands). I wouldn't pay more easily.
I think I paid that for Disney, but that was a special case for sure... you won't catch me paying more than $100 for a half marathon except under very special circumstances. NUTS! But is *is* NYC....
HOly crap!!! that's pricey! frankly I'm still getting over forking over $125 for Houston which is a Full...guess that's why i prefer trail races!
Yeah it's something about going over the $100 price tag. OUCH
Disney Hms are about $130 I believe. They are pricey, for sure!
this seems incredibly expensive ... I saw $34 as the price for one of the charity runs in my town
I won't run the RnR because I think it's too expensive for a half and it's less than NYC HM, by about $40. I ran the Women's Half in November and thought the $90 price was too high too. I'd love to see the breakdown of cost to put a race on.
